Genesee Youth Lead is a leadership development program for youth in Genesee County. This eight-month program focuses on developing leadership skills through specific sessions and hands-on experiences, with each session highlighting different community and leadership aspects.
We are seeking Genesee County high school freshmen through senior students. The ideal candidate will have the time to commit to the program, which includes monthly classes and additional assignments and service opportunities between sessions. We aim to represent a cross-section of our community to ensure all participants benefit maximally from the program.
The selection process, conducted by the Youth Bureau staff, involves an application and interview. The class size is limited. Graduates are encouraged to use their gained skills and knowledge to support their communities.
The program begins in October and ends in May 2025. Sessions are held monthly from 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM at GVEP (BOCES) on the following dates: October 9, November 13, December 11, January 8, February 12, March 20, April 9, and May 14.
