2024 Memorial Day Ceremonies

Alexander:
Parade starting at 10:15 a.m. beginning at the Rec Hall traveling to the Alexander Village Cemetery (a.k.a. Railroad Avenue Cemetery) with the ceremony at 11:00 a.m.

Batavia:
Parade starting at 9:30 a.m. beginning at the East Town Plaza traveling west along Main Street and ending at Alva Place.

Bergen:
Parade starting at 9:00 a.m. from Buffalo Street to Hickory Park with the ceremony to take place at Hickory Park at 9:30 a.m.

Byron:
Parade starting at 11:00 a.m. from Terry Street to Byron Cemetery with ceremony to take place following the parade.

Corfu:
Parade at 12:00 p.m. from Corfu Fire Hall on Rt. 33 to the Intermediate School on Rt. 77. Ceremony to take place following the parade.

Elba:
Ceremony at Maple Lawn Cemetery at 10:00 a.m.

LeRoy:
Parade at 10:30 a.m. from the American Legion to Trigon Park with a ceremony at Trigon Park at 11:00 a.m. immediately following the parade.

Hosting a Veterans Day Service on November 11, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the GCC Forum. Please join them.

Program for Veteran’s Day in LeRoy - 2024

All available Botts-Fiorito Post #576, American Legion members are invited to attend and participate in the annual Veteran’s Day Observance at Trigon Memorial Park. The 2024 remembrance will honor “the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month” with the following program:

  • Coffee and doughnuts will be offered at the Post Home prior to the ceremony, beginning at 9:45 AM.
  • Participants are asked to meet at the Legion no later than 10:15 AM for a briefing.
  • 10:45 AM: Honor Guard and Firing Squad assemble at the Monument.
  • Presentations by Commander David Rumsey and Auxiliary President Tia Petrie-Caccamise, followed by the placement of the memorial Wreath.
  • Reading by Chaplain Gary Bassett.
  • Program concludes with a volley by the Post Firing Squad and "Taps" by Samantha Platek.
  • Dedication of a new flagpole at St. Mark’s Cemetery, located at the corner of St. Marks Street and Church Street.
  • Refreshments of coffee and doughnuts will be served at the Post Home by the Post Auxiliary following the ceremonies.

Veterans Day Tops Flyer

Throughout the year we recognize the service of the men and women who fought and continue to fight for our country’s freedom. On Veterans Day, we are especially reminded of their bravery, heroism and we honor their contributions.    

On Monday, November 11, Tops Friendly Markets will once again offer an 11 percent discount off of a total order to all veterans and their immediate family members who shop at any Tops location.  Customers should present proof of service that they, or a family member living in the same household are a U.S. Veteran, active duty, reserve or retired military personnel to automatically receive an 11 percent discount off of their total purchase that day.   

For many years, Tops Friendly Markets has had a strong commitment to supporting our military associates and customers, including our support of the American Veterans Tribute Traveling Wall, Honor Flight Missions, participation in veteran job fairs, parades, expo's and much more.
