Application Hours and Process

We accept applications for SNAP, Medicaid, and Temporary Assistance Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Temporary Assistance interviews are conducted on a first-come, first-serve basis for applications submitted before 3:00 PM. Individuals submitting Temporary Assistance applications after 3:00 PM will be interviewed that day only if they have a documented emergency (e.g., homelessness, no food, and/or no heat). All others will be asked to return the following day for a Temporary Assistance interview.

Please be prepared to wait to be interviewed when submitting a Temporary Assistance application. We service applicants as quickly as possible, but each interview varies depending on the needs of the applicant.

Documentation Requirements

When submitting an application, bring as much documentation as possible. You will need to verify your:

  • Identity
  • Residence
  • Household composition
  • Income
  • Household expenses

Applying for Medicaid or Child Health Plus

If you would like to apply for Medicaid or Child Health Plus and are not applying for one of the following Medicaid Programs:

  • Chronic Care (Nursing Home)
  • Community Medicaid for Individuals 65 and Older
  • Medicaid Premium Payments
  • Medicaid Buy-In for Working People with Disabilities

Need to See Your Worker?

If you are receiving assistance and need to see your worker, please call 585-344-2587 to make an appointment. If you have an emergency, you can see your worker without an appointment from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM only.
