Posting Cash Bail
Cash bail can be posted at the Genesee County Jail, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Photo identification is required when posting bail.
Credit Card Bail Payment
Bail can also be posted using a credit card (Discover, VISA, MasterCard, or American Express). Credit card transactions are processed through a third-party provider, and a non-refundable service fee will be added to the total bail amount.
Pay Bail Online
To pay bail online, you will need the following information:
- Defendant's name
- Date of birth
- Booking number - If unknown, call (585) 343-0838
- Court and Judge
- Cash Bail Amount
Important: By using the remote bail payment system, you acknowledge that the funds paid via your credit card become the property of the defendant. Essentially, your transaction is a wire transfer of funds to the Genesee County Jail so the defendant can use the funds to make bail. Any receipt or bail affidavit issued for a remote bail transaction will be made out in the defendant's name, and any refund of bail by the court will be made to the defendant.

Note: The return of bail money is handled by the presiding court. All bail money collected at the Genesee County Jail is forwarded to the appropriate court.
