Genesee County Housing Needs Assessment and Market Analysis

Update 2024

Genesee County is updating its Housing Needs Assessment and Market Analysis. This update will help housing providers, housing developers, municipalities, Genesee County agencies, and not-for-profit organizations to better understand the county’s housing market. The study is intended to guide housing policies and assist housing providers in designing projects that meet the county’s full spectrum of current and future housing needs.

Final Report Presentation (Zoom Video) - September 26, 2024

Genesee County is hosted a virtual meeting to present the Housing Needs Assessment and Market Analysis on Thursday, September 26th at 3:00 pm. The meeting was open to the public. 

Project Consultants, Christopher Lankenau and Isaac Kwon of Urban Partners, reviewed the study process and findings as well as described recommendations, implementation strategies, and key action steps for addressing the housing challenges facing the county.

Interim Report Presentation (Zoom Video) - May 21, 2024

The Genesee County Housing Needs Assessment and Market Analysis Interim Report Presentation took place on Tuesday, May 21st at 4:00 PM at County Building 2, 3837 West Main Street Road in Batavia, NY.

Project Consultants, Christopher Lankenau and Isaac Kwon of Urban Partners, reviewed key demographic/economic trends, housing supply highlights, sales and rental market findings, and a summary of stakeholder engagement and housing survey results. The presentation concluded with a review of takeaways and next steps in the study process. An open discussion offered attendees an opportunity to provide input.
